An excellent place to begin your research is in the Reference Department on the first floor of MacPháidín Library. This is where you will find both general and subject-specific encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, etc.
These resources are a good place to get background material on your topic. Remember that Reference materials need to be available to everyone; therefore, they do not circulate outside of the library.
Reference books do not circulate and must be used in the library. Entries from these books can be scanned to your email accout. The scanner is located in the alcove next to the THE DESK.
