Citations of multimedia content will vary depending on the type of source. The following elements are usually included:

  1. The person or group or other entity responsible for creating or compiling the content.
  2. A title or description of the content.
  3. The name of the publisher or other entity responsible for making the content available.
  4. The date that the content was recorded or published.
  5. Information about the medium.
  6. For sources consulted online, a URL.

Other information that may help readers locate or assess the content may be added as needed.

Elements to include:

  • Artist name
  • Song or album title
  • Other contributing personnel
  • Date of recording or release
  • Recording company or publisher
  • Acquisition numbers (for LP and disc formats)
  • Medium 

EXAMPLES OF ARRANGEMENT OF AUTHORS

Authors’ names are arrange is the following format for both books and journal entries.

Use “and,” not an ampersand, “&,” for multi-author entries.

One author

Two Authors

Footnote
Mary Callahan and Fred Silver,

Callahan, Mary and Fred Silver.

 

Three to Six Authors
In the bibliography write out all of the authors, in the notes only write out the first author plus “et al".
