Biographical Sources in MacPhaidin Library's Collection

The library's reference collection features a number of works on notable American women, including those that focus on categories of religion, race, class and sexuality. These reference sources - handbooks, dictionaries, and encyclopedias - can provide you with a brief overview of an individual, her work,  and legacy. Many of these items allow you to search entries both alphabetically, or topically. Reviewing an entry in one of these reference works will provide you with information that will hemp you hone in on a particular question or area of interest.
