CDC works 24/7 to protect America from health, safety and security threats, both foreign and in the U.S. Whether diseases start at home or abroad, are chronic or acute, curable or preventable, human error or deliberate attack, CDC fights disease and supports communities and citizens to do the same. In addition the CDC’s web page serves as a clearinghouse for data and statistics on a wide variety of topics, ranging from aging to workplace safety. The site includes a section call "Faststats" which is an alphabetical listing of statistics on topics of public health importance.

The Greater Boston Food Bank's mission is to end hunger in eastern Massachusetts. Our objective is to distribute enough food to provide at least one meal a day to those in need. The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) is the largest hunger-relief organization in New England and among the largest food banks in the country.
