Evaluating Websites: Get Research Help

How Do I get Help with Research?

Working with a librarian is an excellent way to get the assistance you need to complete your assignments.  We can help you learn skills that will save you time and effort and enable you to use your time more effectively.

Librarians are available to help you:

  • Learn about the types of resources available to you

  • Learn what types of resources are best for your particular assignment or project

  • Learn how to find and request items from other libraries

  • Use databases more skillfully

  • Understand the difference between popular, scholarly, and/or peer-reviewed publications

  • Understand how and why you must properly cite your research

There are many ways to work with a librarian, and you can choose the way that best meets your needs. You can contact the the Reference Librarians anytime the library is open. We are available:

Individual Appointments

If you have a question that requires a little more time, you can make an individual appointment with any of the Reference Librarians at a mutually convenient time. Individual appointments allow you to get assistance on longer assignments and papers from librarians who have a good perspective on how you can best accomplish your research goals.

Our tutorials can also be customized to your individual needs. Check out LibCal to book a meeting, or email The Desk for additional times.
