Implementing the ACRL Framework: Brainstorming space

Internal MacPhaidin Library guide on how we will implement the ACRL Frameworks for the MacPhaidin Library.

Learning and Creativity

While there has certainly been, and continues to be, much to learn about the ACRL Framework, it occurs to me that along with an interest in our learning preferences we should also be interested in our creative thinking preferences. After all, the Framework is a tool that can assist us in re-constructing (or even re-imagining) our IL instruction.

I haven't spent much time thinking about this, but things that help my own creative thinking include the following:

  • Having concrete, specific problems to solve
  • Time to reflect on the issue(s)
  • long walks
  • Writing down thoughts and ideas
  • Being able to build on familiar material
