This guide has been designed to give you easy access to resources that may be helpful in completing your Action Research Project for EDU 657. The home page of this guide will provide you with information about how you can contact the library for further assistance, how to contact Tutoring Services, and how to access online resources when off campus. Use the tabs on the top of the page to access specific resources. Those resources include:
Finding Articles- When you click on this tab, you will be presented with an annotated list of the electronic databases used most frequently for education. These databases will provide you with access to articles and reviews appearing in scholarly, peer reviewed journals as well as items published in popular sources such as news magazines, newspapers and trade publications. This page will also provide you with a link to Google Scholar and information about how to order materials using interlibrary loan.
Finding Books and Videos - This page will give you access to the library catalog, HillSearch. HillSearch will list all books, periodicals, and audio-visual materials in the library's collection. Also included in this tab are suggested titles and information on finding books in other nearby academic libraries. Print materials in the study of education can be found in the Curriculum Collection on the first floor of the library, and in the LB and LC sections on the third floor of the library.
ChatGPT and Literature Reviews - This page provides outlines how ChatGPT can be useful in the process of conducting a literature review. It also contains screenshots of actual ChatGPT search queries and the AI's responses.
AI-Based Literature Review Tools - This tab directs you to Texas A&M University's guide to selected AI-based literature review tools. Included is a description of each tool, directions for using the tool, and sample queries and results. Some of the tools featured on this page may be subscription based.
APA 7th Citation - Clicking this tab will take you to the library's APA 7th citation guide. In this guide, you will find formatting and examples for citing a variety of source types in the text of your paper and in the reference list.
