The web pages for the active committees House of Representatives have information about and the history of the committee. In addition there are links to the chairperson and the members of the House who serve on each committee. Congressional hearings and documents are available, but each committee's coverage may be different, but may include a link to Congress.gov. A Committee's web site may also include their meeting schedule, links to RSS feeds, webcasts and have a FAQ page.

Committee on Agriculture
Has general jurisdiction over federal agriculture policy and oversight of some federal agencies.
Committee on Appropriations
This Committee is charged with setting the specific expenditures of money by the government of the United States.

The Committee's responsibilities include legislative oversight of the federal budget process, monitors federal agency spending
Committee on Education and the Workforce
The Committee oversees federal programs and initiatives dealing with education at all levels. Also has holds jurisdiction over workforce initiatives aimed at strengthening health care, job training, and retirement security for workers.
Committee on Energy and Commerce
This Committee oversees the promotion of commerce and to the public’s health and marketplace interests. In 1981 the committee took on the responsibility of the nation's energy considerations.
Committee on Ethics
This Committee sets rules, conducts investigations when rules of behavior are broken and offers advise to members of Congress.
Committee on Financial Services
This Committee oversees the financial, banking, insurance, and housing.
Committee on Foreign Affairs
This Committee discusses Congressional bill that deal with the foreign affairs of the United States.
Committee on House Administration
Oversight of general matters of the House.
Committee on Intelligence
This Committee main focus is the oversight of the United States Intelligence Community.
Committee on the Judiciary
Oversees the administration of justice within the federal courts, administrative agencies and Federal law enforcement entities. This committee is also responsible for impeachments of federal officials.
Committee on Natural Resources
This Committee considers legislation about American energy production, mineral lands and mining, fisheries and wildlife, public lands, oceans, Native Americans, irrigation and reclamation.
Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
This Committee has jurisdiction over the District of Columbia, the government procurement process, federal personnel systems, the Postal Service and other matters. The primary responsibility, is oversight of virtually everything government does.
Committee on Rules
This Committee is in charge of determining under what rule other bills will come to the floor. Insure the smooth running of the House.
Committee on Science, Space and Technology
This Committee has jurisdiction over non-defense federal scientific research and development. NASA, FEMA, NOAA, EPA and the Department of Energy, as well as other smaller agencies.
Committee on Small Business
This Committee deals with legislation regarding small business, assessing and investigating problems. It also has jurisdiction over the Small Business Administration.
Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure
This Committee has jurisdiction over all modes of transportation: aviation, maritime and waterborne transportation, highways, bridges, mass transit, and railroads. Also the committee also has jurisdiction over other aspects of our national infrastructure, such as clean water and waste water management
Committee on Veterans' Affairs
This Committee oversees agencies, reviews current legislation, and recommends new bills or amendments concerning U.S. military veterans. Jurisdiction includes retiring and disability pensions, life insurance, education (including the G.I. Bill), vocational training, medical care, and home loan guarantees
Committee on Ways and Means
The Committee has jurisdiction over all taxation, tariffs and other revenue-raising measures, as well as a number of entitlement programs sue as Social Security, unemployment benefits, and Medicare.
House Committee on Homeland Security
This Committee has oversight and handles legislation related to the security of the United States.
